mischa is the youngest of three children, born into a musical family in 1994, seattle. his father, a los angeles native & bad boy drummer (think tommy lee) had married a risqué model from japan in 1986. by the time mischa was born, the pair were trying to save their destructive marriage by relocating to a “quieter” city. that only lasted four years or so before the pair were heading back to los angeles, then quickly to divorce.
the instability of their marriage had a profound effect on all of their kids, maybe mischa less than the others, while still causing its own set of issues in his navigation of life. mostly it makes him severely attached to his mother more than anything, which makes his relationship with his siblings strained.
beyond that, mischa learned to play the drums young & always had a deep love of music. he liked tagging along with his father to music events when he could & used those connections to the best of his advantage. by high school, he was actively in a band & by college, he was actively studying music business. there was no other place for him to be, besides with music around & around musicians. he is himself now a professional drummer, like his father, yet extremely tame in comparison to his father’s reputation. most people wouldn’t even know he had a famous father, that’s how far that apple fell from the tree.
